One table, ninety people, and a dinner that outlasted the photographer.
The whole wedding was built around a table four metres longer than the terrace could comfortably hold. They moved a wall of potted lemons to make it fit.
Setting up
Two hours before anyone arrived, the light came sideways through the cypress and the table was still empty. That is usually my favourite picture of the day.

Theo’s brother spoke for eleven minutes without notes. I have frames of every face at that table and not one of them is looking anywhere else.
One table, all evening
Nobody changed seats, which almost never happens, and the whole dinner stayed inside one frame because of it. The lemons went back against the wall the next morning.
The band packed up at two. The table was still full at three.
