Thirty people in a house built for six, and the best food at any wedding this year.
They cleared the ground floor, borrowed six tables, and cooked for two days. The ceremony took place in a garden roughly the size of the tables.
A house full of people
Photographing in small rooms means a wide lens and a lot of standing in doorways. Everyone is closer to everyone else than they would ever be in a venue.

What they made
Two days of cooking, a neon sign borrowed from a friend’s bar, and flowers from the market that morning. Nothing in the house was hired.
A house after a wedding
The tables went back over the road on Sunday morning and the garden took a fortnight to recover. Nothing about the day needed a venue.
Neighbours came for the speeches and stayed until the end.
